After reading Lou’s post on the Book ‘Divided Heart – Art and Motherhood’, I asked her if I could borrow it. After reading the introduction, I was quite literally almost in tears. To have someone articulate so well the thoughts and feelings that I myself have is quite moving. I am very much looking forward to reading the rest.

Beg, borrow or steal a copy if you are a Mum with a strong pull to express your creativity. In the words of Bernard from my favorite British sitcom, Black Books – “You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, it’ll change your life”!

I have this book & having been reading it in between holding little hands, cleaning the house & feeding the troops! It is so inspiring & I think every new mummy (arty or not)should be given a copy as they leave hospital….just so they know they are not alone in the journey of motherhood. :)

I agree Sarah. Motherhood can feel very lonely sometimes and you can feel like the only one that is finding it so hard. It's nice to get so many varied opinions and experiences. Lou.

Absolutely! I just read a little more last night and still loving it.
Yes, you are right – all mothers should read it, not just the arty ones!
I think feeling the connectedness to other mothers is also something I am really enjoying about this new found blog world!
